Custom Medical Paper Box Styles
Choose from these four different styles of medical paper boxes.
We make these tuck end boxes with a front face, a back, two side panels, and openings at both ends. The openings close with flaps which fold over one another and “tuck in”. These are safe for non-dangerous pharmaceuticals and other health products.
As the straight tuck end box, but with the addition of a handy hang tab which allows the boxes to be hung up or suspended on a suitable stand, hook, or other display system. Functional and attractive, these boxes are very secure and can be displayed out of reach of children, for example, making them safer in-store.
The bottom of this box style is designed to automatically fold and close for rapid assembly. The lid is hinged and folds to tuck in on one side of the top of the box. Flat-packed for shipping and needing no special skills or equipment to assemble, these are a very safe and effective packaging solution.
Seal end boxes, as their name suggests, have sealable, sticky flaps for extra security. Otherwise, they are very similar to other tuck end boxes. The high-security closure makes them especially popular in the pharmaceutical and health industries.

Custom Medical Paper Box Materials
Our medical paper boxes are made from high-quality paperboard covered with C1S paper. This paper is coated on one side with either a matte or gloss finish to protect the paper and make the printed design crisp and bright. Medical Paper Box Printing Options
You have several options to choose from when it comes to printing your medical paper boxes. Here’s a helpful guide:
CMYK offset printing — based on cyan, magenta, yellow, and black this colour space gives access to a great spectrum of colour printing possibilities.
Pantone colour printing—if you have very unique branded colours you want to reproduce exactly, Pantone printing may be your best option
Custom Medical Paper Box Special Finishes
While safety is always our top priority with medical boxes, we believe they should be attractive, too! To make your medical paper boxes uniquely memorable, you can choose one or more of these special finishes:
Foil stamping adds a metallic effect to lettering or other design elements. Gold, silver and bronze are the most popular choices, but we can use pigments to create a foil stamp in almost any colour you’d like.
Embossing is a process by which we raise the surface of an area of the box to make it literally stand out.
Like embossing, only the surface is pressed inward to create a concave impression rather than standing out.
This is state-of-the-art technology. Using lasers, we can adhere and build metal foil on the surface of your box, creating a stunning, metallic effect on lettering, logos, or other design elements
Varnishing your carton adds a transparent, tough, protective surface. It looks great and is a good option for boxes that will be in storage for longer periods or spend more time in transit.
Medical Paper Box Design Tips and Templates
Before embarking on the design and layout for your medical paper boxes, please ask us to send you our ready-made box design template. You’ll find it makes life a lot easier and it’s included in the service.
Export your files as vectors in PDF format for the best results. Our recommended software option for box design is Adobe Illustrator. Convert your colour space from RGB to CMYK
If you can’t deliver vectors — say, if you’re exporting bitmaps from Photoshop — then make sure the resolution of all graphics is at least 300 DPI. With vectors, you needn’t worry about resolution, but all other images must have a high definition to tolerate resizing without becoming fuzzy and “pixilated”. All images must be embedded and correctly sized.
You’ll need to add a “bleed zone” of 3 mm around all your dielines—the limits at which your box will be cut. A bleed is an extended zone at the periphery of your photo, artwork, or other image, which falls outside the area that your finished panel will cover. Once we’ve printed your cartons, we’ll cut them to the exact size needed for your chosen format. This “bit extra” gets cut off and makes sure that the finished image fills the sheet with none of it being lost.
If you’ve chosen special finishes such as foil stamping or embossing and debossing, you’ll need to create separate layers for each process as they are done separately to printing.

Our Environmental Commitment
We actively encourage reuse and recycling of all our products. We can use recycled or FSC-certified materials on request. FSC-certified means materials from responsibly managed, sustainable forests. And as we said, we only use eco-friendly inks.
It’s also important to note that any medical or pharmaceutical products placed in our boxes must be pre-sealed in their own containers, such as a blister-pack, bottle, or plastic bag so that there’s no risk of contamination.
